The MiField Applied Research testing program gives growers the opportunity to conduct trials on their farms, in their growing conditions, with their farming practices to prove out yield and income for their operation.  All YieldON trials follow the same testing protocols, and the analyses provided are based the same average cost for all inputs, and the same corn sale price.

2021 Corn Trial Set

In the 2021 crop season, the MiField® Applied Research grower’s testing program, conducts trial protocols to test corn response to YieldON.  Treated acres averaged +4.0 bu/A better than untreated.  While the data set was regional, the strong positive yield response identifies YieldON as an effective stress mitigation tool in corn.  The low breakeven threshold for yield supported a net income of +$12.20/A.

2-Year Corn Trends

Due to differing growing environments, applications of foliar biostimulants impacting corn yields were slightly lower in the 2021 trials than in the previous year’s MiField® Applied Research testing.  When considering the adoption of adding foliar biostimulants like YieldON to planned applications, we analyzed corn response over two years.  The corn acres treated with YieldON produced +6.6 bu/A better when compared to untreated acres.  Applying economics to yield response, the 2-year trend for ROI was +$16.38/A across a total of 26 trials.

Trials conducted in varied Iowa soil types, 2021

Acres treated with the High Yield Corn package yielded +11 bu/A better than the untreated control acres.  Yield impacts of proactive stress mitigation measures varied from +5 to +18 bu/A and a net income of +34.60/A.

The MiField Applied Research testing program gives growers the opportunity to conduct trials on their farms, in their growing conditions, with their farming practices to prove out yield and income for their operation.  All YieldON trials follow the same testing protocols, and the analyses provided are based the same average cost for all inputs, and the same soybean sale price.

2021 Soybean Trial Set

In the 2021 crop season, the MiField® Applied Research grower’s testing program, conducts trial protocols to test soybean response to YieldON.  Treated acres averaged +1.5 bu/A better than untreated.  While the data set was small, the positive yield response indicates YieldON holds promise as an effective stress mitigation tool in soybeans.  Yield impacts in the trials ranged from -1.02 to +5.2 bu/A compared to untreated acres.  The low breakeven threshold for yield supported a net income of +$34.60/A.

How was YieldON developed?

Innovative Approach to Research

Valagro carried out an integrated “omics & field-trials” approach to characterize the physiological effect of YieldON using different model plants (Arabidopsis thaliana, maize and soybean). The focus was primarily on gene expression and plant phenomic analyses. Thanks to the last “Next Generation Sequencing Technology” researchers accurately detected all expressed genes for agronomically relevant crops like corn and soybean. The results at the molecular and morphometric/physiological levels complemented the evidence found in field trials.

YieldON leverages a new combination of extracts never before used!

YieldON extracts - Fucaceae (Seaweeds), Poaceae, Chenopodiaceae

More than 65% of the composition on a dry base, is characterized by a selection of extracts from three distinct families of plants and seaweeds enriched with trace elements Mn, Zn and Mo. After a strict screening of different plants and seaweeds researchers selected these 3 classification families for their highest active substances.

How does YieldON increase crop productivity?

The most innovative technologies such as Genomics, Phenomics and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) allowed researchers to detect expressed genes - related to the increase of plant productivity - directly on corn and soybean.  In trials, plants treated with YieldON, when compared to untreated, revealed those genes which are most influenced by YieldON.
